Clemtine ia Burmese Python. The can live up to 20 years, meanwhile growing up to 16 feet and weighing over 100 pounds.
Burmese Pythons are native to parts of Asia and are considered invasive here in Florida due to too many former pets being released into the ecosystem.
In their natural environment, burmese pythons feast on small mammals, reptiles, birds, and have even been seen eating alligators.
Here at the sanctuary, Clemenetine's care-taker enjoys preparing whole food rats for her enjoyment.
In the hot weather, Clementine will eat once a week (one whole rat), but as they weather cools, she will eat less often as the cooler weather slows her metabolism.
Clementine is 8.5 feet long, weighs 20 pounds, and is still growing.
We are very grateful for her presence here with us at the sanctuary.
